Deja Vu? Liebster Award 4 & 5

Although blogging has taken over my life, I must say that I absolutely enjoy it and I've met some incredible people (okay, not physically met, but virtually).

I never realized that blogging would open up a whole new world....a subculture of people ~ communities filled with photographers, poets, chefs and fashion and nutrition experts...just to name a few. But no matter how different we are...no matter what area we identify with, we are all passionate and we are all bloggers. We put ourselves out there for the world to see....to empathize with....to criticize and to join.

Like any field of work or study (blogging is work....for those who don't know), it's nice to be recognized by your fellow peers. I must thank Zainab and Jessica of Blog of a Bluegrass Belle for nominating my blog again for a Liebster Award.

I think my favorite part of this award each time I receive it is answering the questions and reading everyone else's responses.....here we go! Again! You can read more about the Liebster award here.

1. What's your greatest pet peeve? I can't stand it when I see people wearing shoes that don't fit perfectly...drives me insane.

2. If you're told that you have only three more days of sight, what would you do? I would take my family to a beautiful island and watch the sunset and rise with them ~ laugh and talk with them

3. Chocolate or vanilla ice-cream? I love chocolate, but if you have French Vanilla that's my first choice

4. Do you have a favourite word? If yes, then what's it? Nope....don't think so

5. Best animated movie you've ever seen? I think right now I would go with Tangled

6. What's more irritating: not having a book to read or not having access to the internet? book

7. A fear that you overcame? Ummmm....I not that afraid of the basement anymore

8. Would you rather be a) envied, b) respected, c)trusted or d) feared? Trusted

9. A public figure who's inspired you the most?  okay, so I'm dating myself...Princess Diana 

10. If you could be a fictional character for a day, who would you choose? Elizabeth Bennett

11. Which song never fails to cheer you up? This is a hard question....there are certain songs for different occasions ~ I guess Kelly Clarkson's Stronger

1. What do you do for fun? Write.....daydream

2.  What do you hate to read on the internet? Sad news

3.  Strangest comment anyone has left on a blog post or Facebook wall? So far...nothing strange....yet.

4.  Most embarrassing moment?  Once, I was goofing off and dancing in my house....I danced from my family room to my kitchen....then the doorbell rang. My girlfriend stood there laughing because from the front door she could see me sashay from one room to the other. I could have died.

5. Do you sing in the shower? Definitely!

6. Do you have a charity you love? United Moms Charity Association

7. Have you pledged your support for the Shot@Life campaign? ;) yep....but need to get working on it.

8. What is your favorite Pet? Do kids count? 

9. How many hours do you sleep at night? Normally, 5-6 hours ~ need to get more.

10. How do you feel about cats? love them, but my kids are allergic :(

11. What was the best day of your life? Last Thursday, when we found out my daughter got accepted into a high school she has been working towards for the past couple of years. So happy for her.

Let me reiterate something from a previous post ......thank you everyone for following me and reading my blog. This has been an amazing experience and I absolutely love it.

I love, love, LOVE reading your responses and feedbacks to my various post and I absolutely enjoy corresponding with all the talented and amazing people that I have "met" in the blogosphere.

Although I've only been doing this for a short while, I can say this ~ it sure ain't easy, but, I love it!

Before I became a blogger, I never really gave it much thought. I didn't know what was truly involved, but now I'm learning.....posting takes a lot of thought and prep time and then if you're like me....some more thought and prep time, because I'm crazy like that.....and it's addictive.

I have to admit that blogging has taken over a good portion of my life and my poor husband is definitely getting a bit jealous of the amount of time and attention I seem to be giving Mac (my constant companion). So, that is something that I need to work on.....got to find a balance between life and blogging. If you're a blogger, how do you balance your schedule?

Of course, it doesn't help that I recently joined a few blog challenges (which I refuse to give up on)..... so life has been a little stressful ~ I'm trying to produce a poem a day using the alphabet as my theme.

Got any suggestion for a topic starting with "H"?

Anyhow, as someone who is still new to blogging, it's very flattering to know that my peers also like my blog. So, thank you Jess from The Wondering Brain for nominating me for my third Liebster Award!  I was recently nominated by two other blogs Second Chances Girl and Dina Farmer Photography. You can read my previous post to learn about the Liebster Award. Since I just recently participated in this, I will just go ahead and answer the questions from Jess. Here we go.....

What does your blog name mean? A Dose of Jules means just that ~ a dose of me....a bit of my thoughts. Since I'm a pharmacist, I thought it would be a nice play on words.... I guess pharmacy was good for something. ha!

What's your favorite day of the week? Friday, because that is one day that the kids have no activities after school and we can just hang.

Where do you find inspiration for your blog? Wow, everywhere....I get inspired from conversations that I have with friends, things I hear and read, music....the list is endless.

What's your biggest accomplishment? Raising three wonderful children

What song represents you? On Fire by Switchfoot

What's your favorite dish? Eggs Benedict....that's how I judge a diner....if I don't like your EB, I'm not coming back.

What were you in high school - jock, geek, or reject? Ahhhh....I was a pseudo-jocky-geek.....go figure!

Bath or Shower? Showers usually ~ and I take long hot ones, but if I really need to just relax, I will draw a bath.

How do you relax? I love to watch movies and a few TV shows

Wine or Beer? Neither, I'm a martini girl....I used to love French Martini, but right now I'm a Dirty Martini gal.

If you had an opportunity to succeed, what would it be? A writer.

My First Liebster Award!

This weekend, Ida from  Second Chances Girl nominated me....ME for a Liebster Award! You can't see me right now, but I'm doing back flips and singing.....

I'm so excited....and I just can't hide it......(Can you name the group?)

I'm told from the blogging world that it's German....and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome.

Eleven Questions From My Nominator (Second Chances Girl):

1. What is your dream vacation destination? Morocco! No doubt in my mind....ever since I was a kid, I've dreamed about going there....I want to visit the markets, smell the spices and drink Mint Tea.

2. What is your favorite family tradition? I love them all, but one in particular is our Chinese Style Thanksgiving dinner. When my "family" gets together, we are easily 30+ people and then there is always one mystery guest that has been invited. We eat your basic Thanksgiving fare and then on top of that we have several dishes of yummy Chinese food, prepared by my mom and her sisters! Sooooo good!

3. Do you collect anything? If so, what? I am a Cook Book Collector! AGHHHH.....my bookshelf is on the verge of collapsing....my bedroom floor has piles of books stacked in every corner....people tell me to go digital, but I just can't help myself....there is something so beautiful about a cookbook.

4. What is your favorite quote? Never regret what once made you laugh

5. Who is your hero? My Grandmother on mama's side....She was truly amazing. They sure don't make them like they used to. She loved, forgave, sympathized, taught and didn't have a selfish bone in her body. She endured so many hardships in her life....she was truly tested....but she never gave in. She was strong and loving and she was so loved by all who met her. She was and will always be my hero.

6. If you had thirty minutes of free time, what would you do? I would probably be blogging.....it's so addictive!

7. Do you believe in second chances? YES. We are human. I tell my children everyday that we all make mistakes...it's what you learn from them that matters and that's what makes you a better person. I still make mistakes....some big and some small.....I hope one day, if I need it, I will be given a second chance.

8. Why do you blog? I blog to release all that is locked up inside me....my thoughts, loves, creations, addictions and obsessions. 

9. Do you believe you have found your passion in life? If not, what are you waiting for? So funny you asked this question, because I just posted I Missed My Calling on Monday! So....I believe that I have found my passion (now that I'm 43) and I've decided to do something about it!

10. What is the one thing you wish for your children? If you don't have children, then for any young child in your life. The one common thing I with for my three children is for them to be HAPPY. I realize that the only thing that really matters is that you're happy with your life.....don't regret things....learn....move on....be happy.

11. Do you consider yourself happy? Yes, I'm happier now that I used to be....I think, like most people, life is full of ups and downs....a non-stop roller coaster that is totally unpredictable. Right now....I'm happy....ask me again when Game of Thrones season ends....
